First of all, yes the script costs € 20,- However, I do find it important that the script is available for everybody so if you cannot afford the script (no income, can't pay using provided methods, it's just too expensive) contact me on discord: @sijmen_v_b and we'll work out a solution together.

Now, let's move on to the fun stuff!
This script allows you to generate rivers on your worldpainter maps effortlessly.
You only have to specify where the river starts. You can even make the script choose random starting positions.

I've spent a lot of time ensuring the water stays in the rivers. I'd say it's 99% effective (with the default settings).
The script runs quite fast and is not directly influenced by the size of the world. (500 random rivers on a 22k map in under 10 min)

You can configure:
- the starting width of the river.
- the ending width of the river.
- the depth of the river relative to the width.
- the terrain to be applied on the river.
- layers to be applied on the river.

I have tested mostly with the default settings. If you encounter any bugs contact me on discord: sijmen_v_b#1078.

I do plan to keep updating this script, If you have any feature requests let me know.

To run the script open your world in worldpainter, go to Tools -> run script... and select the script.

Update 1.6:
- Support for other dimensions such as the nether, ceiling, and cave floor dimensions.

Update 1.5:
- Much better meandering, settings for both strength (how soon it will start to meander) and size.
- River braiding. (needs some meander strength)

Update 1.4:
- masking support, you can now specify a layer that the pathfinding will avoid. This gives you more control over the shape of the rivers.

Update 1.3:
- Improved performance of the finding of starting positions. Especially noticeable on big maps.

Update 1.2:
- Improved pathfinding, which should reduce 90-degree angles in rivers
- Biomes will now be automatically set. (beach and river biome. frozen variants where the frost layer is used)
- Lava mode. will place lava instead of water.
- Minimum length filter. will not generate rivers that are smaller than x blocks.
- Random. will randomise the river's pathfinding to make it twist more (water escapes the rivers with high values)
- dyke size (advanced settings). allows you to play with the size of the dykes.
